Do you like carrying your baby? Do you wear sling or carrier? There are different ways to carry your baby. You can use sling or baby carriers. I prefer using sling. I use a ring sling. I know there are also a lot of type of slings in the market. I manage to do my own with the use of some blankets. I do enjoy using it because it is very convenient. Even when my baby when he was newborn, I had no problem with it. MY baby is also very comfortable in it. The only problem I encounter is stares. Yes. I do get a lot of stares because of wearing my baby. People here are not use to sling. They are use to seeing baby carriers but not sling. I am sometimes offended by their stares. Sometimes though I just made a good laugh out of it. LOL
Now that my baby is a lot older, I think I might just shift to carriers because he is now moving a lot inside the sling.
How about you guys? DO you wear your baby? What do you prefer to use? Sling or carrier?

My aunt made baby sling for my nephew last 2006. Anyways, I like the idea of a sling because it supports you when carrying a baby.
Oh when your baby grows up do not ever put a leash on him or her ok. I find people who uses leash on their babies as inhumane. Really. I feel like babies/kids with leash is like being treated as another puppy.

When you have kids, your perspective with leashing will definitely change. Here in our country, another reason why leashing does not look so good is because we always identify it with dogs, where dogs are not treated right here.. Unlike in other countries, to them dog is just like family..
Anyways.most of the times, we were like roving tourist attraction for that.. a sling and two toddler on leash better to look like puppies than lose them hehe

Hehehe...I am really planning to get a sling. This little fellow of mine wants to be held all the time, and I have tons of work...:) The construction workers over here use slings. They can't afford not to work. They can't afford to hold a whining infant. So they just carry it as they work. LOL!!
How do you make a blanket sling, by the way?
Cheers and happy Mylotting

I don't wear my baby... I would love to carry my baby but she's way too heavy and it hurts my back so I use a stroller. I have one of those carriers that you tie on your back but I only use it if I'm going somewhere that the stroller would be difficult to use.

Hi pehpot,
If I were you I would continue to carry the baby without taking noice
of the others' stares. I would not be offended if they stare. They
might be admiring you and the baby. When my son was a baby I always
carried him in carrier.

I always carried my daughter around or I used a stroller. I used a carrier ever so often also. I never owned a sling.

When my kids were babies I used a baby carrier with them. I had seen baby slings around the same time I got a carrier, but decided to go with a carrier as I felt my kids would be more secure in it. When my kids got a little older I upgraded to the backpack style carrier. I loved these things as I could carry my kids yet still keep my hands free.
Whether it is a sling or a carrier, these things are a must for any new parent. They are a tremendous help!

If u are embarassed, then it's gonna be even worse in singapore.. lol =D Because not much ple here are willing to sling their babies as it's awful looking and spoils their image.. lol =D Most of the parents here, will be using a pram instead, so that their hands are free to shop and yet they will not be carrying a load on them.. lol =D
There are not much mothers like u now ^_^

I use the ring sling as well. It's becoming very common here in Singapore. But when I went to KL, Malaysia a year ago, I realised no one there uses the ring sling to carry their babies. I meant no one. I met none at all. I got a lot of stares of course. I even met one pregnant mother who asked me where she could get the sling. I directed her to an online site. I love to carry my daughter in the sling and did so until she was well over a year old. Now she just wants to walk on her own and I have kept the sling. I felt a special bond with her in my sling. I really enjoyed the experience.

My baby is now a big baby at 4 so when I do carry her, it is either on my hip or my back I used to really enjoy carrying her in the sling when she was little; was one of the most beautiful things at that age and I still ooooh and aaaawww when I see that
