Ofcourse praising dogs is important. just like to know what you guys do when your dog does something really really bad? I don't want to offend any animal lovers out there. i love my dogs like my own children, but when they do something really really bad i spank them. no i don't do it hard but i do make my voice authoritative. i found my mini schnauzer to catch on early. if i see him touching or about to touch something that he might destroy i just say "oi!" then raise my hand pretending to spank he'd cower in the corner already and leave the thing alone. and then after a few minutes he'll act all sweet to me. and i just ignore him for a minute or two so he'll get the drift then i'll just carry him and everything's back to normal. what do you guys do?

I have 4 Pits. And I love them like family. But sometimes I have to scold them. Sometimes I have to roll up a newspaper and swat them. I have spanked them. I have never hit them hard enough to hurt them, nor have I hit them in the head. And yes, when they get into trouble, they pout. They run away and hide. Just like my children. LOL!!

oh i'm so glad i'm not alone doing this. i have another pet a male shih tzu although he's not as mischevious as my mini schnauzer so it took him awhile to get the notion that he's being scolded. he thinks we're playing! lol! but one time we really we taken aback about what my shih tzu did. so i made the action of spanking him (sometimes i do bluff i just top when i'm near their face). he scampared away and when i made the action of spanking he waved my hand away (sort of like a hi-five). we couldn't stop laughing! i really really feel guilty when doing this. you know how they give you this look of sadness. hahaha. but i know it's necessary to still point out when they're wrong.
