What movie would you like to see remade?

I keep waiting on the remake of "Logan's Run" - I think they could really make that a spectacular movie now, with all the CGI technology! I read recently they're remaking "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". I cringed when I read that. The movie has such a cult following that I can't see it being done again. It's rumored that Marylin Manson may play the role of "Frank. N. Furter". Some things are just better left alone, in my opinion. What movie would you like to see remade?

I really do not care for remakes, being that so many of the remakes I have seen are very dissapointing, However if I have a few I would love to remade and am very surprised have not been remade already being that hollywood seems to be remaking anything these days. But the original Jaws is one I would love to see remade, just as long as they do not funk it up to bad.

There are many movies which are very exciting and entertaining, but only thing in it is the language that we are not able to understand. So I would like those movies to be remade in the local language.

It seems like they're remaking everything these days. I even heard they're remaking 'Red Sonja'. Does that really /need/ a remake? The first one was corny enough... Logan's run, I'd love to see. I like the original, love the book, and it'd be nice to see it brought up to date. And RHPS has been recast on stage so often, I'd love to see a remake.

I don't really want to see any remakes as most originals are better inthe long run. In some cases I'd like to see less remakes by Hollywood and more originality that relies on story more than shock factor.

Logan's Run was on TV here last week, and I took myself over to imdb afterwards for a look..I've never read the books the movie was based on,but apparently the population of the city were only up to teenagers...the Producers changed the age range as they wanted Michael York for the role..Don't know if I'd like it to be truer to the original concept as a remake.. I don't know what movie I'd like to see remade that wouldn't destroy everything I liked about the original that I liked! I don't think they should redo "Rocky Horror",though..

First of all, welcome to myLot! I posted a discussion a few weeks ago about how I think some movies shouldn't ever be remade. Ironically, it was another futuristic movie, "Soylent Green", that prompted me to start that discussion because in another discussion about that movie somebody suggested it would be a good movie to remake and I strongly disagreed with that sentiment. Sometimes it's not all about modern technology and special effects. I think I feel the same way about "Logan's Run"; I think the original is good enough. It's a modern classic, in my opinion. In my discussion about remakes it was also brought up about "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and how that definitely should never be remade and I agree totally with that! To answer your question, I can't think off-hand of any movie I'd like to see remade. Basically, if they were good I see no reason to do them over and if they were bad, well why bother...lol? Annie

You may be right, especially about "Soylent Green". Sometimes the classics are better left alone. I wasn't particularly impressed by "I Am Legend" in 2007, and would much rather watch "The Omega Man" (although I've never seen "The Last Man on Earth"). Let's not even mention that Planet of the Apes disaster!

I would also like to see Logan's Run remade, but I worry that it would be ruined, in part because the idea of it now doesn't seem as far fetched as it was when it was first released. I cannot believe that there will be a remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. That's almost sacreligious. The only thing worse would be someone attempting to remake the best movie every made. Of course, I'm talking about Napoleon Dynamite. That is a classic that can never be remade. I would like to see a sequel, but not a remake.

Frank N Furter - tim curry
This is just my opinion. But I usually do not like re-makes. Like you I believe most are better left alone. Especially the Rocky Horror Picture Show. There is and can be only one Frank N. Furter. Friday the 13th remake is coming out. That might be ok.

I would love to see a remake of "Love Story." That was such a great book and movie. I bet with a little remix the film could be awesome. Rocky Horror Picture Show sounds pretty cool. I kinda like Marylin Manson, so maybe that's why.

I agree with all that you've said. I like Logan Run. That was a great movie and could make a really good remake with todays cinamatic advancements. I also concur with your coments about The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The first thing that came to my mind when reading your post was James Bond. I like the current James Bond series of movies with Daniel Craig. Casino Royal was great and Quantum Of Solace was a great sequal. Are they going to start remaking the old Ian Fleming based movies again? Bravo :?)

Mine's "The Clash of the Titans". I was four years old when I first watched this movie(during the betamax days). Of course when I was a kid, the movie looked really amazing and during that time, there were no other great movies to have it compared to. But watching the movie again this era, I'd say it's a joke. I just wonder how it feels to see the digital version of Medussa, Pegasus, the scorpions, sea monster, the gods and goddesses of Mt. Olympus.

I also don't like remakes because I want those films to be preserved in our memories and just looking for new ones. But if there are movies that I would like to be remade, maybe Casablanca and Ben Hur these classic films are great to watch and worthy of any money we have to spend.

I was real excited to see The Manchurian Candidate remade and I was disappointed by it greatly. There really isn't much that I want to see after that now.
