Yours is really a good question but I think it is a question of giving you some form of privacy. It is a question of privacy. I would feel uncomfortable undressing in front of a woman doctor but I would not feel uneasy if she sees me naked. I would know that she is doing her job.

lol ^_^
doctors try to minimize a patient's discomfort and potential embarrassment as much as possible.
for example, after a rectal exam, a patient is asked to put his underwear back on. although the doctor has already seen (and examined with a finger) the patient's bttom, it would increase a patient's discomfort to be sitting in front of the doctor's table, waiting for prescriptions, with no underwear on. ^_^
in the same way, being naked is entirely different from being watched while you are stripping. watching a patient strip is unnecessary and perhaps more emabarrassing for a patient, so doctors try their best to only see as much "naked" as necessary.
^_^ valid question. i hope i have shed light on this issue. =)

lol...
A doctor is supposed to be beyond and above lusty behaviors when they are doing their job but who says they can't otherwise! lol..
A lady changing her dress is not a part of his duty obligations...

I know here ( Ontario Canada) The Dr has to leave when your changing, I asked my dr about this once, due to the fact she has already deliever 3 of my children, so there is not much else she hasnt seen, and she said legally she has to leave the room. I personally think its silly, because when i am at the dr. office, i dont really care who seems me change, and after baring three kidlets, the whole modesty thing is gone out the window.

well there is a lot of difference in see a person undressing and looking at the person directly naked....in the second case the doctor thinks u as a case to be examined for any pathology....
moreover. its the patients psychology which matters.....the patients has to feel comfortable to share his problems with the doc. doesnt he?
i am studying to become a doc..we r taught abt such things its a part of the medical code of ethics... one is presence of a female attendant during examination of a female by a male doctor.
