Why Does Prs. Obama get to "approve" or "disapprove" of YouTube Videos?

This was posted on the Republican National Committee's website:
"At 12:38 p.m. on Sat., Jan. 24 we attempted to post the Weekly Republican Address by Leader Boehner as a "video response" to President Obama's address on YouTube. More than two days later, the GOP video response is still waiting to be "approved by" the President's Internet team.
While we applaud the President for utilizing popular video-sharing websites like YouTube, the central purpose of these tools is to do just that: share videos and engage in conversation. We hope the President’s Internet team will quickly approve Boehner's response and allow that conversation to take place.
Watch Leader Boehner's response to President Obama here -- and leave some feedback while you're at it."

Ok, Obama supporters, please explain to me why any president or his staff should have approval authority over what gets posted on an internet site?
Please dig deep into your conscience and try to justify this. If you can, I would love to hear from you. I would also love to hear how you would react to a Republican president claiming the same authority?

I have never in my life heard of a situation where the president gets to approve or disapprove of what a person posts on an independently owned website. Boehner needs to grow a pair and post it himself. The Republican party needs a leader with the balls to exercise his rights and not bow down to the messiah. You'd think with a name like Boehner...

ROFL!
Yeah, I'm disgusted with the wimpiness of the Republican Party over the last bunch of years. To tell you the truth, I don't know how much longer I'll consider myself a Republican.

Excuse Me! How can anyone set back and say this is ok? Hello O'Bama supporters! You have all Biotched about wire taps and emails being read and a long list of supposed infringement of your right to privacy, so what? It's OK if O'Bama is doing it? What makes this even worse is at least Bush had a half way decent excuse for what he did, he was listing for and looking for terrorist. What is O'Bamas excuse? No one can say anything or show anything that might tarnish His Majesty? Get real, President O'Bama, put your big boy pants on and get over yourself! Blessings Marilyn

Lol. You know that while b!tching about wiretaps Obama himself voted to approve them right? The guy just tells people what they want to hear and they buy it. This control over what gets posted on Youtube is just sounding more and more like the communist control in Russia. I'm pretty sure the NY Times will be changing its name to Pravda soon.

Yes Task I knew that right along with all he other whining Democrats. O'Bama keeps preaching bi-partianship, but the only way hat is going to happen is when they stop living in the past blaming Bush for all the woes on the earth. The things that are happening today have been coming for much longer than 8 ears, and if the Democrats won't stand up and accept responsibility for their part, there will never be peace among us. I'm sure they approve most things, it's just to make sure it doesn't include secret hacker codes or threats to the President's life or the like. If they are smart on Obama's team they will approve it quickly so as not to raise conservative ire and disapproval.

Everyone has the authority to approve or disapprove of video responses on YouTube - this isn't a new thing. I don't know why you're making a big deal out of this, though. According to what you posted, the video is merely pending approval. It's incredibly unlikely that the president is controlling the YouTube account, and it's managed by a team that has to match it up with certain criteria or discuss what videos are appropriate to approve. I think we need to wait a little longer than a few days before we start jumping to conclusions, don't you?

I don't think it's sanctioning the posting of the video per se. They could in theory post it separately on youtube. But they cannot post a comment to the Obama videostream as a comment if he doesn't approve. I think that's just something that's true for comments on every video that's posted on youtube or you can set it up that way. Anyhow, he of course as of yet doesn't have the authority to decide what's going to be posted on the internet, just where site policies allow him to impose such restrictions.
Obama always had trouble dealing with criticism and will of course not have anything critical of his position posted as a comment to his youtube videos. Is it a good approach? To control the masses, probably at first, but they eventually find out about it. And yes, the democrats would have been upset, if it would be them trying to post that critical video...
With the fairness doctrine and whatever else has been done to undermine media criticism, well, how far away are we really from a state controlled and censored media right here in the US? Those are the questions we have to ask ourselves.

I have attempted to make several comments on his youtube site and none have ever been apporved. They were respectfull, more respectfull than some of the racial comments I had seen made on some of his video.
I assume this is what they are talking about, the comments and video response section on his youtube channel?

Um. I am not a supporter and I don't think that they should have to be approved. Can we not have freedom of speech about our President. I did not see or hear anywhere in the constitution that freedom of speech limited us to talking about our President. He might as well get over this mess. Ugh! I would feel the same about a Republican present doing it to.

This is insane.
Why should he get to approve what anyone puts in youtube. Much less the republican party. This is censorship and it should not be allowed to happen.
