horse breaking

I have a horse that I have worked with for a while and I have all her ground work done, shes great on the ground, I got on her last march and boy did we go for a ride, she wound up throwong me into a galvanized cow panel OUCH!! and hurt me pretty bad a couple broke ribs and a big not on my head, anyway, I havent been back on her since, not because I am afraid, but My husband wants to get on her first, he has done this for a living for years, but he has no time for ours now, any suggestions, should I just get back on her, and say a prayer before, she really needs to be broken she is almost 5 now and I dont think she threw me to be mean she was just scared... help!!!

As bad of a wreck you had, I think your husband should ride her first. Also with that being her first ride and she bucked you off, I bet she's going to try again. In her mind, it worked the first time to get rid of her rider! After he's ridden her, you should be fine. I would saddle her up and spend extra time running her around in the round pen. That way she'll be burn off some steam and hopefully be too tired to buck. Good luck!

I don't happen to have a horse of my own but I have been riding for many. I would wait to do your work with her until your husband has more time to help you. Two heads are better than one I guess. Is she more comfortable with you or your husband? If she prefers you than maybe you should stay on the ground keeping her calm while your husband rides.
