I am no guru but I feel it is gonna last for awhile. So many people are getting laid off from their jobs and that effects all of us. I hope it does not last long but I say at least 3-5 years is what I feel it will last. I hope it picks up quicker than that but I feel at least that amount of time. I myself have been effected in a way that normally when I could find a job I have been unable too, I work online only and I am trying to make it that way. I plan on looking for a parttime job here in the next few weeks but I have been a job hopper in my past so where I live at it has been hard to get people to hire me. My work history is not the best but I hope to find some kinda of part-time job. Happy mylotting and have a good day online,

I think it is going to last a long time. it is probably going to get worse before it gets better. i am not so sure we are not in a depression it is cerntainly the worst recession since the great depression. It is not a good time in this country that is for sure.

When we first started getting into the recession, I thought early to mid 2009 would be the end. Now it is starting to look like that was an optimistic outlook. I'm thinking now that late 2009 to early 2010 could be the time for turnaround. There are still a lot of things to be figured out before the economy changes. I'm still worried about how the auto industry will do. Also, we have to see how these bailouts and stimulus packages work out. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.

I don't know how long it will last, but sadly it will last a lot longer than most people think. I don't think we've reached rock bottom yet and 2009 looks bleak for the financial and job sector. We are going to have to tough it out for a couple more years before things start hopefully getting better.

I think that things will continue to be rocky through the third quarter of this year. I think that we'll see some improvement in the fourth quarter of this year but it will take through the end of 2010 to get back to the place where we'll see some economic growth. IMHO, the key to the whole thing is the recovery of the housing market and the financial sector. Frankly, I don't see a whole lot in the proposed economic package that will make a significant impact to speed up the recovery.
