One of the largest outages' The storm has been blamed for at least 20 deaths and a glaze of ice and snow caused widespread power failures from the Southern Plains to the East Coast. Authorities said it could be a week before some communities have electricity again.
A week! That has happened to us, but in the summer. I cannot imagine in the winter

I read some people will be without power to mid-february. In the winter or in the summer, it is a burden on homeowners. Where I live, they began a project to bury the power lines. Expensive and going to cost me some cash, but the power company is at least taking steps to makes sure long power outages are a thing of the past.

We had an ice storm years ago that knocked our power out for 3 or 4 days. The worst of it for most people was their basements all flooded once the ice began to melt because the sump pumps weren't on.
My in laws came over with a kerosene heater and some stuff to keep us going. I forget what we ate, but I don't remember it being too difficult on us. It was just annoying not having our power.

I have not been without power for more than a few hours, I know that it sucks because we depend on power a lot more than we think. I feel we need to find alternatives to power as well as a few more things. This is scary to be without power I feel. I know there has been a lot of snow storms this year that have caused a lot of problems for people. I pray for these people to pull through and keep safe and warm, happy mylotting and have a good day as well.
