Are you working? and if you are then are you in the same field as your specialization?
I am working in an organization. I have been here only for 6 months but I got a job in another field which is completely different from my field of specialization. I have asked the boss to shift me to IT section (which is my field) but he dosen't approve. What do you suggest that I should do?

I work for a TV station and have a broadcasting communications degree, so it's appropriate. I knew before going into school what I would want to do, so it made it easier for me.
At this point, I hate to be "that guy" but you should definitely stick with what you have and don't push your luck if still employed right now.

This is a similar case to what happen to me a year ago. Like you, I am interested in IT so I expect to do some IT (or at least programming) job in my company. But my expectation is wrong. I have a programming but it is not the main job that I need to do.
My advise to you is firstly being patient with your situation. If you really like IT then you should try to search for another jobs. But you need to secure another job first before you resign from your current company. Keep in mind too that maybe it is not that easy to find job in this recession time.

I too am worried that in this time of recession I may not get another job. That is the only reason why I am sticking to this job. Anyways thanks for the good advice.

You have been on the job for six months, I am assuming when you accepted the job you knew what position you were taking. Jobs are hard to get and you are fortunate to have one. I suggest you hang in there, learn as much as you can, do your job to the best of your ability, and if an IT position becomes open within the company, apply for it. With a good working record, you may be able to get it.

When I took the job they told me that I was going to the IT section. But I don't know what made their mind change. I know that I am really lucky to have a job and that is the only reason that I am not quitting my current job. Anyways thanks for the response.
