Friend or Family on American Idol?

Has a friend or family member ever audictioned for American Idol? Have they got though the first round or did they get the boot? Was it on the tv show or was it not shown? Did they do really well and get far in the competition?

I've actually tried out twice and I made it past the first round this year. So in Jacksonville I met like the producers of the show and that weird latin girl that wasn't even very good that they sent to hollywood. I also met the black guy that was like crying.
