Why do some people think they are the ONLY one who are struggling to get by????

I've read more than one discussion or response from people who are looking for someone....anyone to "give" them a lot of money!! Wouldn't life be great if that happened for all of us? Not to be in debt or worry about where our next slice of bread is going to come from? I don't have a car because I can't afford the upkeep or of course the gas to make it run. I take public transportation and hate it but deal with it. I go to the churches to get free food when I can. I scrimp and save whatever I can which isn't much since I'm on disability. Why do people think this way? I don't get it!! Do you?

As they say, hope is eternal. So they hope they will be given money. Yes, they know nobody is going to give them, but why not try ?? They might get lucky. I agree, we all have our problems and we face them day after day. I too dont have a car, live in a two room flat and try and make ends meet doing two jobs. We are ususlly broke by the end of the month but it has made us stronger in life. You must be having a more difficult time, since you are disabled. All the best.

you have to try to help yourself and not expect someone to swoop in and save you so to speak. i do everything i can to help us get by. i work 3 jobs from home and am a wife and mother and my husband is self employed so we are not rolling in dough by any means. but we are here for our son and our flexible schedules allow us to be good parents. we struggle alot but we are not asking anyone for anything. we shop at dollar stores and aldi for groceries and we get what assistance we can due to income guidelines with our gas and electric bills and nj family care medical insurance for our son but we do not expect anyone to give us money. it would be great like you said but i have more of a chance of getting struck by lightning.

hi ctrymuziklvr! well i guess it is because if one is in a difficult situation, that person thinks that his problems are the most important, or at least the heaviest of all. we are all struggling in some way. for some it may involved money, for others family, still others health, or others covetousness. we all have concerns, and most of the time, these turn into worries. i do have my problems. my husband and i are both working, but we both have debts since my hospitalization. and i will be giving birth in 2 months. well i believe in God and i pray that God would deliver us and see us through this. and based on experience, God has a way of providing what we really need. take care and God bless you! :-)

I used to do a lot of surfing for traffic and there was always this page "my wife has double pneumonia, the bank if foreclosing on my house, and my daughter has a terminal disease. I just lost my house, etc. and I have no money,:" etc. This is not something new. It happened before the present recession. There are a lot of things that I could not do because I could not afford to do them, and things that I needed as well. We all have problems, and there is help available, but it is for those who need it, not for freeloaders. If you try to work and you do not make enough there are those who will help you, but not if you sit on your duff (myLotting and working on the computer being the exception) and do nothing. So I guess those people who ask for money all the time are just plain lazy.

To be honest, you cannot get nothing this way or if you think you can. The millionaires are holding on tighter to their money in times like these, and I feel you have to work for what you want. My car broke down last May. It hasn't run one dot since then, and I had no choice but to hit the bus. I lost my job and though it has been quite tough being without unemployment, I did alright. I cannot complain. It would have been easier with a dollar, but sometimes you have to do with what you got. plain and simple. which is why I promised myself on the next job, I will save money and stop running scared. Besides, if anyone gives me money, it will come with conditions, unless it's the loterry.

what I find hilarious is that people who generally make a good income mismanahge their money horrendously and then call themselves poor or say theyre suffering yet they have everything they need and two new cars in the driveway.Americans have become so lazy in recent decades. Im dirt poor.I dont make much money as I have disabilities and I get no benefits for them either. So any income I generate is the result of hard work and busting my behind for poor hourly wages far below minimuym wage. I dont own much of anything and cant even afford my own place yet I dont ask anyone for a dime and never have. People who have far more than I cry n whine about how poor they are to me and its sad and funny at the same time. People need to distinguish needs and wants and learn to save and invest money.

The funny thing about people is, they like to think their experiences are completely new and are only happening to them. Many people never reach a certain level of maturity where they are able to understand their experiences often have and do happen to other people. They don't think that other people are struggling because they aren't the other people and they do not know the other people. It's like they've got their blinders on or something.
