ey guys, I need your help on gift ideas for my mom's 50th birthday. I'm on a tight budget right now, so I'm running out of options for the things she would love. I was thinking of giving her an electric sewing machine, but its too expensive. I would love to welcome any of your suggestions. Thanks in advance...

You can do a scrapbook full of your family pictures.. You can even give her a dress or a shirt saying how you love her... or any appliance.. Regards to your mom and Happy Birthday!!

i really love the scrapbook idea. it's so original and straight from the heart! if your mom has siblings you may want to ask them if they still have pictures of your mom as a kid. and then you can compile them. i think that's so touching.

Thank you so much for this wonderful idea, I would love to do that scrapbook thing its just that i don't have time to do it now, coz her birthday is tomorrow and I a bit busy taking care of my baby and doing the household chores at the same time. I do agree that It would be very touching and I'm sure she would love it too. I hope do that soon though. Thanks for your great suggestion.

Happy birthday to your mom. If your mom loves sewing, maybe you can give her a hand sewing kit. Maybe an embroidery set will likewise be good for her.

She's already got those sewing and embroidery kit. She has this old sewing machine where it still needs to be paddled by the feet, it still works. But if only I have the money, I would love to buy her that electric sewing machine she's always wanted. thanks for your response though. I appreciate it.

Hi there, You did not go into a lot of detail about what your mother would like or if you have other brothers and sisters and or other family. But, what immediately popped into my mind when you said that you were on a very tight budget and could not afford to buy very much yourself, perhaps a couple or a few of you could go together and get a larger gift. We have done this in the past at times for baby showers and the like, so that you could buy larger more expensive items. Another alternative if you do have a larger family is to have a potluck dinner or get together of some sort. This way you can organize the party plan the drinks ended the food and everything without actually putting out a lot of money yourself. I also like the idea that others have suggested to make her something rather than buy it. Are you a creative or a crafty person in any way? Can you knit it or crochet her something? And if none of these things seem to work for you, I'm sure she would be thrilled to just go out to lunch with you and spend a couple hours chatting over coffee. All the best and happy Mylotting!

So sorry bout the missing details. Yes, I do have four siblings and only two of us are working and the rest are still students. We've done that (buying a large gift from all of us) a couple of times before. But this time I want to give my mom something special. And yes, I'm a crafty and creative person I already gave her a crochet coin purse and make-up bag last year, that's why I can't give her another one of my crochet projects..hehe.. Anyway, the whole family is going out to lunch tomorrow for her birthday, that's why I want to give her something special after we eat out. I really appreciate your thoughts, thank you.

we're already having a party for her at lunch tomorrow. This includes her friends and acquaintances. I was looking for something that I could give her during the party. Thanks for your response though.

I have heard of this wonderful book that you could give your mum - it is a scrap bool/journal for her to record her memories of life so far in. It is a really unique gift called dear mum - from me to you. It is from me to you because the idea is that she fills it in and one day you will get it back. I cant explain it but it is magical and the gift itself has won prizes for being so brilliant. Yhe link to the website is http://www.fromyoutome.com/ it is a company based in the UK but they ship anywhere in the world. This should do the trick. Lizzy

I visited the link you gave me. I agree this is just wonderful. I think its a gift full of heart. Unfortunately, my mom is not a journal lover... so don't think she'll have fun writing this. But Im sure my friends would love this. thank you.

That's cool... I've never thought of buying 50 kinds of affordable gifts. I guess, I'll do that when my Dad turns fifty. I don't have time to shop around for 50 different gifts right now, my moms birthday is tomorrow. Thank you so much.

Maybe you could buy her a cool looking watch and a cute greeting card ..that's what i gifted my mom but but you could also gift her something like slippers which have that soft cloth which is really comfortable and i'm sure your mom will like it...if you play and write some music you could play it for her on the big day....
