Limewire 4.18.8 does not send viruses to your computer, rather it stops downloading when the file's got a virus. It's marked as corrupted, as some files infect the computer the instant that it is downloaded.

it is very possible that it sends viruses. i have had a couple of computers crash and go to the blue screen in the past 5 years. you do have to be careful about what you download. i always download the file of the song that i want that has the highest number of downloads. i have had this computer for 7 months and i put limewire on it almost immediately and i havent had any trouble yet

I'm not sure about sending viruses but perhaps you should be careful when downloading from an unknown source. I also have a limewire software and it eats up my patience. As you said it takes hours to download a single song.

I use to use limewire and just recently got rid of it. I'm pretty sure it gave my computer a virus. Every once and a while my computer gets a blue screen then shuts off, which isn't good. It eventually fries your computer. BUT, good music downloading systems are ARES and soulseek.
