What will you use in loving someone?Heart or Brain?

I was asked this question when I was 15 years old. Out of 50 students, only three answered that they will use their heart and I am one of them. I was warned already that I should follow my brain and that is because the brain is positioned higher than my heart. If I followed my brain, I am probably married to a rich old man, but I followed my heart and I am committed now to an average class man whom I love deeply. I can never be a passionate woman to someone whom I do not love. Have you ever committed a mistake in choosing someone you love because you followed your heart/brain?

My brain leads me, my heart helps me. If I think the relationship will work, after thoroughly thinking through all the pro's and con's, then my heart will help me make that decision work.

So, you mean you have to think first before you fall in love with a person? And are you saying that your heart will be the one to make the final decision for you? What exactly is your answer?

You're right, that was a very confusing answer. Sorry about that - I had more coffee, so hopefully I'll make more sense. LOL My brain. My heart, which are my emotions, is lead by my brain. I'm the type that has to weight every option, and think everything through before jumping into any decision - including a relationship. :-)

That is one of the hardest questions I have ever met. Even until now, I do not know what to choose. When I choose my heart to decide, I will tell myself that I should have followed my mind and the other way around.. Isn't it funny!Whatever it is or why it happens I just follow my heart at least I have either learned a lesson or felt happy. With the brain, it'll give me headache thinking.hahaha!!

lolz, i like your answer, where if you will use the brain it will only give you headache fo thiniking. Though sometimes when you get angry or you two have a fight, you will actually blame yourself why you chose him.

i have to say this but I use both.. I follow my heart with love but I also use my brain so that I don't get hurt. Money is nothing that can always be made and even though money buys you security it can't buy you the feelings of someone or make you feel something for someone. But the heart makes you feel and the brain keeps you out of potential bad relationships. For example you might love a person but say they cheat on you the brain kicks in and tells you no second chance get out. You have to listen so that you don't get hurt anymore. In listening with the heart yes you have the potential to get hurt but the brain should help you to keep from getting yourself demolished in the process. I have a
thought that I say to my friends," If you don't take the risk for love then what do you take it for?"

well, they said women usually use their emotions, and men is the other way around. We usually say what we feel, in short, most of the women follow their feelings. Can you also say that men follow their feelings?

I follow my heart and sometimes my head. I listen to my heart because sometimes it's more sensible than my brain lol. I think when I think with my brain and follow my thoughts I over analyze things and I don't let them be as they should be.

You are right, I might tend to over analyze things if I will follow my brain. And I dont think I will be happy for the rest of my life with it.

I follow with my heart and not too much brain lol. If it makes me feel good, I'm going after it! It's when I use my brain I get things all confused and make myself miserable. I've learned to just accept my feelings and let it be.

oh! Just following your emotions. Most of us do really follow emotions. Check their answers, too.

I really depends you got to have a heart to love someone because we are human we are not machines that can be controlled by a remote. Secondly brain is important also if you are wise enough you'll know if the person who love you is sincere and you got to have a brain to decide what is wrong and what is right. Heart and Brain are always an important essence if you want to love someone. So, love your neighbors wife...hehehe just kidding

Both, the heart just follows what the brain orders, the heart is just a symbol, but all of those feelings come from the brain.

I will use and am using only a heart! Love and brain don't go together as an idea. If you are with someone because of deep brain storming not deep heart love then it isn't going to end well.
