Recycling is now an important part of life for most people and that is as it should be, yet I often think that we often use too much to begin with. There is no recycling of paper where I live so I try to use as little as possible. Often we use a sponge for spilled water rather than a paper towel and do we really need to print as much as we do? Think about it, although a cure is good, prevention is even better. What do you think?

I ry to recycle paper as much as possible. We have introduced a recycling system in our school. We ask our children to use the recycle bin at least once a week. We are aware about the importance of recycling in my country. I do think that using paper wisely helps us to protect our environement and save trees from being cut unnecessarily.

Yes to save paper is essential as it reduces the number of trees from the environment and that destroys the balance of ecosysterm. Thankfully in our area this recycling is available and I try not to waste the paper and give it to people who come collecting.

Hi Pose123! That is true. We should try to conserve on paper because we should consider the source. Paper is produced from trees and plants. If the demand is too great, we might end up losing our forestry and we need trees because they produce a lot of oxygen for us and the environment. Just a thought!
take care and have a great day!

i believe we should learn the 3rs- reuse, reduce and recycle.research shown that more and more of our resources are being used up at a dramatic rate. we should help to conserve and save while we can, doing our part for mother nature.i try to use less resources as possible like paper, plastic all that stuff.i think the most resources i consume is water as i drink around 2 liters everyday haha.

Well, I have almost stopped using paper ever since I purchased this computer. LOL!! The only paper we use now is the daily newspaper, which is great not only for reading, but also to wrap garbage and clean up the cat's puke (which is what I was forced to do last night. :(
Cheers and happy Mylotting

Instead of printing I copy and paste. I have a ton of file's Also, I use a wash cloth not much on paper towel. I need to recycle more. My sister is a big fan of recycling. She would recycle everything if she could. I think the best gift I got her and she loves it is a woman was selling flower pots with little paper cards. These cards where recycled paper from her job with seeds added. You put the card in the pot with some dirt and water. The flower or plant will grow. I thought it was a great idea. I wish more people would buy them from her. The cards have little verses and sayings on them. The only thing I can find about these cards is that they are made in the USA by SeedTime & Harvest. You might like their idea's about recycling.

Hi Shanthey, Thank you for responding and at least you realize that you are using too much paper. Make it your next project to find ways of cutting back, especially if you can't recycle. We must save our trees as they are so necessary to life on this planet. Lets all do our part for the future. Blessings.

There is still much room to save the resources, paper being an important part of our life. In office, double page printing should be encouraged. In washing room, too much paper is used just to dry hands. Piles of newspapers are thrown away unread. In shops, goods are overpacked in many cases. We do need to think seriously to improve recycling.

I agree with you.. In our office we really use many papers so to help even in my little way, I use them twice. I do not throw them immediately. If I can still use the back page. Besides, with the climate we are having right now. There is a possibility that our resources will deplete if not protected

Hi haydeecorbilla, Thank you for responding and we agree. Using both sides of a sheet of paper is an excellent idea where it is possible. Trees are necessary for life on this planet and anything that we can do to cut back on waste is commendable. Blessings.

I think we do, I learned that the average American uses 9 trees of paper a year. Each tree has on average 5,000 sheets of paper in it. That's 45,000 sheets of paper per person. This year I decided to track my paper consumption. It's almost the end of January (the 31st is Sat.) and I've only used 82 sheets of paper. I can't imagine that I will in the next 11 months need to use 44,000 sheets of additional paper. My goal was to only use one tree, but I bet I won't use half that if I'm careful. Why are Americans so wasteful? I know I used to be much more wasteful before I started this project. I hope some of the lessons I learned stick when I'm not doing it anymore.

I do think we use too much paper. I think schools and what not are the biggest paper wasters. They make us type up so many different types of papers that I really don't think are necessary, nor do they really pay much attention to those papers. Why can't we submit papers electronically? That would cut down on paper waste extremely.

I support recycling. But I use up a lot of paper as well. When I need to pass a report, I'm not going to use recycled paper. When I am in the washroom, I am not going to use recycled paper. I use a roll of tissue in 2-3 days. it's embarrassing to admit, but I'm fond of my tissue and I use a lot of it. SO I make amends by throwing my trash properly and trying to 'recycle' as much paper as I can.

It is true that paper is being used too much in offices, homes, hotels, etc, etc
This is good that many businesses and even individuals have started recyling, not only paper but also glass, clothes, etc
i have seen in offices a lot of paper used, more of it is getting wasted everyday.

I think in certain parts of the world too much paper is most definitely used. My high school science teacher, an eco-nut, pounded into our brains that we have to reuse, recycle and reduce. At the school that I went to for elementary and high school there were always recycling cans, two large ones in the main rotunda and many more throughout the school next to garbage cans. And the mentioned science teacher would dig through the garbage to find anything recyclable. So now I try to recycle as much as possible :)
