the buses in our city have been on s trike since before christmas. they have some issus they are fighting for but one is money. they make 100,000.00 a year. one of the house paid jobs around here. people are stranded and it's getting crazy. people can't get to work to school, to doctors offices. just fire them all and hire new for cheaper. lots of people are looking for jobs out there. the drivers union has turned down countless offers i think they are being very selfish

are you in ottawa? the city of ottawa has had their transit workers on strike for quite a long time. i think its horrible but it comes down to essential services. is this an essential service, i believe it is. in this case, they should be legislated back to work.

yes i am. i think it is an essential service. last i heard the government was trying to fight for that but that was weeks ago so i guess it didn't work. but people are losing their jobs because they can't get to work. i think they should get part time drivers or something. what about the elderly who need to get to the pharmacy for meds or people who need to go help out the elderly and can't get the bus for their visit. even cabs are a 2 hour wait because of this

Wow! $100000 a year? Where do you live, because my brother is a bus driver in Chicago and he doesn't make nearly that much, and to be honest, I think he is paid fairly well. But 100Gs and they are complaining? I'm hoping that there is some other serious issue that they are holding out for.
Here in Chicago, there has been several occassions where it has gotten close to them striking, but it has never come to pass. It would really be detrimental to the functioning of the city. I don't know how you all have survived a month without it.

Hi, I never encounter bus strike in my country. I guess those bus drivers are afraid of jobless and bad economy nowadays. Regarding your solution on this strike, I think it's not easy to implement it but I do understand how you guys suffer from no bus transportation now (my country has lousy public transportation!!!)
Hope that there will be good solution from the government and the bus union to solve this strike.
All the best.
