which one is better windows beta 7 or open suse?

hello everybody there i hav been using xp for about a year now.and i feel a change is needed.i hav heard a lot of opensource os such as ubuntu ,open suse.....etc. i made my mind to go with open suse as it is free of cost ,because i got it free with my CHIP magazine.but later i came to know about the release of microsoft WINDOWS 7 and sun microsystem's open solaris,which both are feature rich but not easily available .though i got open solaris i cudnt use it because my system is backward compatible,(i.e mine is X32 and opensolaris runs on X64 & X86.so finally i m left with two choices one is open suse.which is an open source and other one is windows 7......which i suppose is a trial version......so pls somebody help me out.....suggestions are welcome....
