A fend for yourself night?

Do you as a housewife ever just declare a fend for yourself night? In that I mean that you decide not to bake and you figure that everyone in the house can find something that they want to munch on for dinner that particular evening.

Yes, all the time. I try to cook as much as possible, but at least once a week, we just decide to fend for ourselves. Usually that ends up being a sandwich, soup, canned pasta, or even a bowl of cereal. I don't think there is anything wrong with it- life is too busy to always have time to sit down with your family to a full-blown meal.

I am guilty of it from time to time. There are sometimes when you just don't feel like cooking or have so many things going on. The kids enjoy those times as rare as they are, they feel like they have a choice and its okay to create some unusual concoctions. Happy Fending!
