yes, I love thrift stores. We have a lot in out Area Like the Carolina thrift and the salvage store. hahahah just the name salvage makes me think these are all junks.. well anyway, with the economy today, I for one would love to save as I can. so, I always go with my friend to Carolina thrift. Wow!! the first time I was there, I was so fascinated with the branded shoes and clothing with $2.99.$3.99, some $5.99 price and it is half price according to their color coding. hahaha.. I was like.. what? and with my $10.00 I have a big plastic bag full of stuff. The good thing is I look for $.99 cents tag hahaha and I got it only $.50.. yahooo.
How many of you are also fond of going to thrift stores like me?

I am so happy for all your good buys. It always makes me feel good to get a bargain. It all sounds incredible. Is there anyway that you could send me a pm giving mne the address so that I could visit this place when I come up at the end of next month? I would be so grateful as I need to buy some shoes and a few blouses for work. Blessings

I do love going to thrift stores. they are fun. Often, we can find some pretty interesting stuff!
I particularly like the more established shops that are packed full of all sorts od things. One can spend a good hour or so in there.
Sometimes I will buy cloths from a second hand store. Often I look for books and picture frames, since I paint and draw, this is extremely cost effective and handy.
I used to make costumes. The thrift store was a great place to find peices of fabric from used clothing to stitch together another costume.
Baskets are another thing I like to look for at the thrift store.
Sounds like you have had your first taste of thrift shopping and that you liked it very much! Good for you on your savings.
Thank you for this discussion. happy Shopping!

Well, I always go to different thrift stores but this one I am talking about is my first time to come here and I find this place a good one than the rest. Imagine? $2.99 and then half price? $.99 half price? hahahah in other thrift stores, I can get, $3.50, $2.90 but fixed price.. but in here? the Carolina thrift? I can get all those prices like $3.50 at $1.75. That is a really good bargain..

I don't go to thrift stores very much, we don't have any in the town I live in, but there are a bunch in the city which is about 35 miles from me. I just can't seem to ever find bargains like many other people do, guess its because I don't go looking huh? Its good that you can find bargains tho, anything to help save money these days.

I love thrifting, therefore i love thrift stores. In my opinion, thrift shops beat the shoppings malls when it comes to one- of- a -kind- they-don't- make -this- anymore accessories. My favorite in our town is called Pick of the Litter, I love rummaging thru their baskets of unique belts, necklaces& earrings. Oh & the stuff are inexpensive, The Price is always Right! Happy Thrifting Bebs!

You are right!!! there are lots of stuff there that are really branded and some are still brand new. Of course, most thrift stores have used items but they are still in good shape, looks like new. So why bother to buy expensive things of the same kind when I can get it in the thrift stores?

Next to yard sales, thrift stores are my favourite!...I can spend hours rummaging through things that I do not need but can get for next to nothing and revamp into something special...I have had many glorious finds including some valuable antiques.
I guess thats why they say that some peoples junk is another persons treasure. There are a lot of treasures to be had if you keep digging!

Absolutely, I have a dresser that I am now refinishing and when I looked it up on the internet, I found the same one for over $1400 refinished!!!...I paid nothing for mine as it was given to me at a sale. You will have to try yard sales. Especially at the end of the day when they are ready to pack it up, Whatevers left may go really cheap or as in my case, free.. I have done this also...Love yard sales!

I like them for books and stuff, not really a clothes shopper there but my mother in law loves them, when we see her we go and browes around. If you can find a deal good for you, keep shopping if you hit the jackpot like that.

I used to love looking for treasures at thrift stores when I lived in a more populated area where there were several to choose from. I have found wonderful, almost new clothes, great jewelry and some of the best whatnots in thrift stores...not to mention great deals on baby and toddler clothes when my kids were younger.

Our version of thrift stores here are the "ukay-ukay" where imported cheap clothing are available. It's nice to go there when there are new arrivals because good clothes at very cheap price. But I really don't enjoy ukay ukay places because more often than not, the smell of "alkampor" is very distinctive and I do get headache.

hahahah my friend I know what you mean, that's right!! the ukay2 there smells awful.. but here nope!! and there are many people who are coming. Most thrift stores here have brand new items donated from department stores that are not sold. and you know what? items from thrift stores here that they could no longer sold, they will also donate to the items given to other countries like Philippines and etc. Suppose to be
the Ukay2 there should not be very expensive because they are donations from people outside Philippines. Good luck friend.

Hello friend, I love thrift stores too though there aren't a lot of thrift stores from when I am. At times there are sale but the quality of the merchandised sold are old and almost junky. LOL. Though there is one store here that I like that i sells imported product it is 99 and below as compared to the other stores or malls perhaps. I enjoy going to that place a lot especially to buy chocolates and cookies.

hello bebs
yes, every time that one of my girl friend's and i get together, we always hit one of our local thrift stores that is around here in our area. i have purchased several nice shirts from thrift stores at a reasonable price. i enjoy going into the thrift stores just to look around to see what they might have in the store for the day. sometimes you can find other items at a thrift store like pictures for your house and things like that.
take care and have a beautiful evening.

I am fond of going to thrift stores that sell cheap clothes but new stocks, this is also known as surplus stores, their stocks are very new straight from the factory but cheaper because it is not branded. I am not fond of wearing branded things anyway, so I go to surplus stores. The materials are nice and durable and very comfortable to wear plus it won't hurt your budget and your wallet.
I always believed that durable stuff are not only those who has names and label but also those cheaper ones, it is only up to the person wearing, it is not on the signatures but on how you carry yourself.

Correct!! I agree with that.. it depends upon how you carry your self, there are people who are wearing branded materials but they don't look handsome or beautiful hahaha but there are those who wear brand less but looks awesome. I like thrift stores.

I love, love, love the thrift stores!
Can't beat the prices, get great deals, and sometimes even new clothes with the tags still on. I go every couple of weeks and I've also bought items to sell on Ebay.
I did go a couple of weeks ago and got 5 really cool sweaters all for $13.00. Now come on, that's just plain awesome to me. I've already bought jackets, jeans, pants, sweatshirts, jewelry, craft supplies, books, and some household items too. Like I said, love it, love it, love it!

you said it right!! it is good to buy stuff their to re sell it anywhere you want. If you just know how to get the right pick? you can buy brand new in thrift stores. Not all stuffs there are used, there are some that comes from a clearance sale dept. store that are not sold out so they donated it to the thrift stores. That's a pretty good deal.

We like to go to thrift stores, but we aren't looking for clothing. We go through all the other things they have. But my mother has bought NEW things there with the tags still on them - nice clothes. People just bought something they decided they didn't like and gave it to thrift stores. My daughter shops there, too. She had on a beautiful sweater Christmas. If she hadn't told me she got it there, nobody would have ever known. You could not tell it had ever been worn. I've bought picture frames and my husband bought wooden boxes that hold DVD's - very nice and very cheap!

yes, not all things from the thrift stores are used, some are brand new but old stocks from other stores which they have decided to donate. Well, I love this place for bargains. Yes, no body can tell where you bought that very goo stuff unless you will announce it where you get it.
