I have just taken out my second learners licence. I intend to complete my lessons this time around and not chicken out. I already regret not having completed my lessons. It is said that we learn faster when we are younger. Too bad I didnt do that but hey... I am a fast learner anyways . So how old were you when you learned to drive or even got your drivers licence?

my first driving a car experience was when 6th grade elementary school lmao. yes, too young huh ? it was because i love vehicles alotz and always curious about anything related to it. start from curious to try, to learn, and then to have it lmao. yes, thats kinda hobby haha..i am a fast learner too. i got my license when i was at 2nd grade in Senior High school, but i drove it since i was Junior high lmao. my dad allowed me to drive it to school because it was safer than riding a motorcycle, beside my mom needed a driver hahah..so i love to drive or ride vehicles.

Now you were quite an adventurous one it seems. Your childhood fasination helped you to gain such an accomplisnment at an early age. That is very good. Commendations to your dad also for the role he played . You may have gotten the licence at a later age but being able to drive from early is certainly good.

yes lol thank u..i guess driving a car or riding a motorcyle not only need a skill, but also a tallent and a good sense of awareness =) so, for those who still cant drive or ride, keep practising =D therefore, ur sense of driving/riding will gets better always..

I have yet to get my license tjades, but guess what, I'm learning the road code and hoping to sit for the test next week or the week after or my learners. It's taking me awhile to get through the handbook. My husband taught me how to drive when we lived in Samoa incase of any emergency - they don't drive more than 25-30k in Samoa so I drove quite a bit (didn't have a license though, naughty me). Now I regret not getting one because I could of been driving around VA by now. Drivers around here are impatient and fast though that's why it's taken me two years to rack up enough courage to go for it. My husband is away for a month and our car is sitting in the garage gathering dust LOL mind you I did drive it today to take my son to his basketball photos which was 4 minutes away from where we live LOL No problemo but still dangerous because I don't have a license. I am determined this time to do it :) good luck with your lessons!

I grew up in a small town in Georgia. We generally learned how to drive on the farms and country roads at a very young age. I was probably 10 when I learned to drive a tractor. I started driving pick-up trucks around the fields and stuff at about that age as well I think. Driving on the roads pretty much came naturally for me when I got old enough to do that as well.

You were one of the lucky ones who started early. Thats good. I really believe that certain skills are best developed at a young age. Well I'll finally get on the drive way on monday so wish me luck .

Hi there, I was a late learner. I got my license a long time ago, in fact I was 21 when I learned to drive. I didn't feel the need to learn any earlier than that. Having your license is great and means you can just get up and go on the spur of the moment and not have to depend on anyone driving you around. I would be lost without my drivers license ~proudnana~

Independence is key . That is one of the main driving force behind my reason for finally taking on the challenge of learning to drive. Thanks for sharing pnana.

I learned how to drive when I was 16. The first time I drive alone out on the street was at dawn, because there's still few vehicles and less traffic. It's really an asset if you know how to drive. Happy myLotting!

I didn't learn until I was 17 or 18. I went to school overseas and they didn't have drivers ed, so I didn't learn until I came back to the States. I had one lesson in an automatic in a flat parking lot and then my father came home with a stick and I worked in San Franciscp/ Teaching myself was alot of fun.

Hi kb. My lessons are totally with the stick. There is this saying here that when one learns to drive with the standard vehicle they can handle almost anything and will be some of the best drivers. Automatic is too easy they say. The gears thing has me going a bit but I am sure I'll get it with practice.

I was 15 when I learned to drive and 16 when I got my license -- MANY years ago! *sigh* Those ages are the legal ages in my area.

Sigh indeed . If only we could be that age again. Wish I had the courage to learn to drive from then. Thanks for sharing .

I was about 14 when I learned how to drive. It was a little shaking there for a while. I hit a tree, went down a one way street the wrong way thank God no cars were coming. My mom franked out and said what are you doing? Know that I think about it was funny. I finally got the driving part down pack. Just keep your cool and have confidence in yourself.

Thanks for the encouragement cgreat. I certainly hope I'll be able to keep my cool. I had one nerve racking moment when I just started learning some years ago and that was enough drama for me .

i learned how to drive when i was 15. i was pretty scared myself. when i got my license at 16 i actually ran my dad almost into a ditch. it's scary but you get use to it very quickly. it's definatly fun and a lot of responsiblity, but hang in there you'll do just fine!
