resources, internet, research books ie library, various folks I knew, but more often than not I do not find things that work or I may hear use this, but not HOW to use what ever they say to use, for this reason, I am interested in what thoughts and remedies others may use, and if so how do they use them
Example.
toothache
Fresh clove of garlic, take it peel it slice it and put the slices around the gums and area of the tooth that is causing the pain,
it will cause burning, for a few minutes leave this in place for 45 minutes to an hour, if it is just a tooth ache that should do the trick, if it is an absess or something more serious such as infection, you will have to continuelly repeat this process for a couple of days.
Also while doing this take extra vitamin C.
Amazingly when the burning subsides the garlic does alleviate the pain.
I was in enough pain that I was getting ready to go to the emergency room when I tried this, I had to keep repeating the process since my situation was further aggrevated by ear and sinus infection as well.
But within 12 hours I was doing better, and within 24 hours I was still babying my mouth and that area but I didn't take any pain meds at all.
So what about ? What ailments do you prefer natural remedies to prescriptions? what are those remedies and how did you use them?

In my place (Kerala, India), we go for natural remedies first for most of the ailments. If we don't find any improvement, then we go to the physician.
For eg
1. When we have stomach ache, we first try to find, what could be the reason like yesterday's food, roamed to out without proper food, etc and try to solve accordingly. Buttermilk with little fenugreek seeds soaked is good for any type of stomach ache. If it is too severe and not under control, then we go for next step of visiting doctor and checking.
2. For cold, we take Tulsi (a medicine plant) leaves, crush and take the juice and drink. Not only that, we have lot of medicine plants grown in most of the houses for quick remedies.
The list is endless....

It is so great that you grew up with the natural remedies, I do not like doctors, and I am sensitive enough to prescription meds that the possible side effects are in my almost guarenteed to happen.
Add to this, I have had some problems with sinus and allergies for years, and well doctors don't listen because it doesn't fit their "normal" way it should be, one doctor was going to fix the problem, but I have been much worse since that idiot with a MD on his name lied to me and botched things up so bad that I now go through times when I am incapcitated.
So I thought I would go back to more natural remedies and get views on them from others.
Thanks for shareing some of yours.

Hi, I too had sinus but got rid of it through Pranayama (breath controlling exercises). After practising that regularly for half an hour daily, I'm totally out of that nasty issue now :-)
I am not sure whether this will work out for everyone, but to my knowledge, two of my friends, who practised this also got out of this sinus issue now.
Try that... All the best.
