When sometimes I buy something on department stores or supermarkets I'm just annoyed with lousy cashiers. I compare how fast he other cashier on the other line and its like two is to one. Do you also experience this?

Hello insurectus! I experienced it too. Like you, I found it quiet annoying especially if the cashier is not smiling at all. Honestly, it's ok if she is lousy but please she could even smile so that the costumer wouldn't be irritated with her.

I don't get annoyed when the cashier is slow when I pay for my items. I try to understand these people because for all I know, that person may be nervous because it is their first day at work or the first day that they are manning their stations on their own without a senior to guide them. Or that the person may not be feeling well, and they still went to work because if they don't they don't get paid. Or that they are working overtime and would want nothing more but to go home, but the extra pay will extend their household budget. I've worked as a cashier in my teens in one of the fastfood restos here and I know how hard it is standing eight hours a day, making sure that you don't get conned by short change scammers. Been there, done that. Had my share of not so nice people. So when I stand in line, wait for my turn and see that the next counter is faster, I just wait patiently. And when it's my turn I smile at the cashier because for all I know, that may be the first smile she may have received for the day.

I hate lousy cashiers... there was a time when i encountered one... that i couldn't help but tell it to her face... it was at SM Hypermarket... it was my turn... and she kept talking to the cashier behind her... then she did not arrange the items i bought properly... and gave me the wrong change... it was really too much to bare... so i gave her a piece of my mind... and she was flabbergasted about it...

Hey there! I really hate cashiers! There was one time at Rustan's, my girlfriend and I were the only ones in line and we only had around 5 items we were going to purchase. She was so slow in handling the goods and scanning them. Then, when it was time to pay, my girlfriend used her debit card. The cashier didn't know how to use it! It was so annoying! She had to call in help who wasn't a big help at all.

Yes I experience that too, once also I bought a dress for my daughter and my money is 1000peso bill she said she don't have any change for my money so she didn't punch my purchase as if she will not allow me to buy the dress and it's my problem now to look for a change with my money. I am the only customer on that cashier area when I try to ask my husband for a change she just keep on talking with her bagger. I was really annoyed with that cashier in Gaisano Fiesta Mall here in Cebu.

It's always greener at the other side of the fence. LOL! If I have someone with me and the queue is long, I usually ask my buddy to get in the other line. That way, I don't have to wait keep on grumbling when the other line moves faster. I think there are only few lousy cashiers at department store and supermarkets. Sometimes they are slowed for some technical problems, lots of small items being scanned/punched in or simply because they are simply overworked.
