what is your best advice

Now the world is in fire because of the recession and everywhere the people get fired form there job and for the fresher it became biggest nightmare. now at this time what is your best advice for them to survive. I am also fresher now. I heard for the consultant firm CEO. he told that you have get some work experience in any field to survive, don't search the job to suit for your degree, whatever job you get do and get some work experience.

It is also good to go for higher studies if you have the finance so that you will be having a better skill set once you get out of college and by the time there will be better job oppurtunities.
