An article from philstar dated January 30, 2009 disclosed that the Abu Sayyaf gunmen holding three Red Cross workers in Sulu are demanding livelihood programs from the government in exchange for the freedom of their captives.
The Jolo, Sulu Vice Governor said that these men want livelihood and peace. They don't war, they want peace in Sulu.
Should the government give in to the kidnappers demand? If the government grant their demand, do you think these kidnappings wil end?

hi siomaii!
disgusting...if they want livelihood, why don't they find one. why do these people think that they deserve special treatment. such people may have probably bombed some parts of mindanao, so what about those people whose lives they took? those were also innocent people, some of them trying to make out a living. so what about the livelihood of these people.
honestly, i cannot understand why our government could not eradicate these rebels. man, we have intelligence groups, we have the military, weapons, etc. and these people are confined in a single island. why not kill all these people? this may sound atrocious, but they are also killing innocent people. so what about the human rights of their victims? why do we keep protecting these rebels? is it because the government has business when the rebels are around?
this is a disgusting system.
take care and God bless you!
happy mylotting!

I'm from Mindanao, it's very frustrating that until this time these issues haven't been resolved. I think these are the same old people doing the same old thing over and over again. The constituents of Mindanao are suffering. We can't even promote Mindanao because tourists are afraid to visit. Mindanao has a lot of tourist destinations and a very rich culture.
