Space Research How is it of benefit to us?

Incredible, I learnt lately that space research and programmes cost a lot of money that even those agencies that are involve in those programmes are funded mostly by the government of those countries that are involve. If this programmes and research cost a lot of money, then, they will definately be of importance to us. I have tried to know how it benefit to us, I even visited some of the agencies involved, but what I always get is their next mission or their newly designed SpaceCraft. So question is, what benefit can we derive from this space programmes?Will be gratefull for ur contribution to this discussion. thanks

This is my opinion... Space research solves many unknown mysteries of science like formation of Universe, Galaxies, , Planets, Processes that take place in stars... It also gives more knowledge about the elements present in various other cosmic objects. This'll be very useful in future. Do you know? Man has a plan of settling in moon in future! Knowledge of these things might help us for our future 'civilization'!
