I think BitDefender is the best. I have used trial version of it. Its too light on your machine, does not consume much of memory plus it protects you against threats. It has also been rated as best by PCWorld magazine you can try it. Have a look at ratings on PCWorld.

I haven't heard about Nod32.But I am using AVAST now .It works very cool with me and many of my friends told me that their antivirus doesn't detects virus well.So how often you update your antivirus is the matter.I turned ON auto-update in my antivirus and it really nice.It fairly gets updated everyday,I would recommend you to try AVAST.

There are many antirvirus softwares . I have used avast , e-scan, norton, macfree and avg8 free. As my experience say that AVG 8 free is the best antivirus. If you update it regularly then it will function properly.

I will prefer AVG for single users and NOD32 for server client networks.

I say AVG free or AntiVir is the best anti-virus. I am using Antivir and my never slows down or hangs up.

I used Norton , AVG and Avast , the best for me is Avast it scans every second it's way much smoother then with AVG and Notron , norton slows the pc while AVG slows it only a bit and Avast doesn't slow it but it's a good antivirus , it finds more viruses then those 2

I found BitDefender to be #1 and it seems so, though I have some problem regarding auto update (improper server) and with antiviruses it's not ignorable. I personally prefer kaspersky and AVG but recently my sister introduced me to Avira. It works smart! Avast is not so much cool in my opinion. nod32....not heard best for servers as someone said. You know better :)

The best Anti Virus is Trend Micro. Use the latest version of Trend Micro. I'm using it for many years and I have never experienced bad. It is an excellent antivirus. If you are not satisfied with this you go for McAfee but it will make your computer slow.

Ive tried avast and avg. Avast uses more resources, but has more features than avg. I like avg for the simplicity.

I like the Norton Internet Security 2009 the best. It still protects the computer well, and this year's version is a lot less of a memory hog, so I like it even better. When I need to use a free antivirus though, I go with Avast, and it also works well.
