Different kind of raising

Did you use to have a time in your life before children that you felt you were going to raise them a certain way when you had them and when you did have them you actually did the opposite?

I always had the philosophy that I was going to let my kids do whatever they wanted as long as the were not hurting themselves, others, or breaking the law. Believe me that is not how I am raising them. They are to do what is expected of them and nothing else. They know it too.
