I only use a cell phone as well since it is less expensive and you can take it wherever you go plus it has cool features like text messaging, games, internet and other useful things that a regular phone does not have. Big thing for me is no telemarketing calls. :-)

I used to have a regular landline telephone but I switched to Vonage a few months ago. I still would like to have a cell phone for when I leave home but every plan I checked is too much for the small amount of calling I'd be doing on it. Any suggestions?

I still have one at home. Not quite an antique piece like the picture though :-)

We do and use Vonage for our service. $30 a month for unlimited nationwide calling and some out of USA calling as well. It is worth it. We will probably get a cell phone in the future for who ever leaves the house to take along with.

we still have a landline at home, because my mom is kind of a heavy user of telephones, so cellphones would prove to be a lot more expensive for us. but i know of a lot of people who have thair landlines disconnected because they all have mobile phones anyway.

Yes, I still have a land line telephone in my house. When we were without power for 4 days due to a snow storm we were unable to keep the cell phones charged because there was no electricity. With a regular telephone we were able to stay in contact with family members and friends.
