Are you an American? Are you a Republican? To be for peace and say yes to one or both of those statements would indicate that you are unaware that since the time of Harry Truman, the US has been engaged in perpetual war for perpetual peace.
I am for peace and have been most of my life. I helped young men get to Canada many years ago. I have protested peacefully for many issues.
I am distraught over the Patriot Act that makes the fourth amendment toilet paper when it comes to search and seizure. I am appalled at the naive Republicans who helped to pass the Military Commissions Act 2006, which makes kidnapping, imprisonment without due process or any recourse, torture and even murder legal in the United States.
Until the world has Universities of Peace where they teach tolerance, peace, arbitration, negotiation, and understanding, there is not much hope for peace. Until we find a way to make peace pay more than war to the small number of people who get rich off of the pain and suffering of others, there is not much hope.
This blog might be of interest, in the archieves for Sept I think is mention of University of Peace http://silvaspoon.blogspot.com/
