Asian teams although making some improvement in the feild of soccer, yet they are considered very weak as compared to there european and american counterparts. What is the reason? Are asians not tough enough. or is that to do with the skills. Still some of the asian players are making good name for themselves in the foreign leagues.

the reason are vary depend on the country. there's country with great passion to football but not supported by good system and good team and league management. but there's also countries with good and professional league system, but the people isn't that really into football. but maybe physical appearence can be a great handicap for asian (especially south and south east asian)

It's got to do with the investment and dedication afforded to soccer by the Asian continent in the past. Soccer has never been the most followed game in Asia, it's been cricket and some other games. It's only now that Asians have started seeing the potential in the game and as most matches from europe are broadcast in the continent, the love for the game has grown in leaps and bounds and has a lot of fans. Investment in terms of players development, infrastructure and everything concerning the sports has also come to the fore in most Asian countries in recent times, and that's why we now have Asian players performing well in foreign leagues. With the kind of support and development plans being put in place, it should'nt suprise anyone to see the Asian teams dominating world soccer a couple of years down the line.

Many asian countries do not support sports like soccer and basketball in their schools, which is an important training field for many atheletes. Moreover, most countries play football which is different from soccer, which is the america version of football. In countries of the east, sports like hockey and cricket is favoured when compared to soccer. There are soccer stars in asia, but one person isnt enough to make the team work well, or effect the overall performance, and people aren't interested in sponsoring a one-man team either. This greatly discourages the asian teams. There are many other factors, but the above must be the major of them. Happy mylotting.
