Wrong Place at the Wrong Time

Last night I had to leave my house to drive about 10-15 minutes away to drop something off to my husband then go back home. Should have been back in a half hour or less. As I was approaching a busy intersection I saw flashing lights and at least one lane of traffic blocked off. I figured it was an accident, and was in a location where it was easy for me to turn right and approach my destination from a different angle. A few blocks down on a parallel road, I saw flashing lights and traffic blocked in both directions. With everyone around me also doing so I made a u-turn and ultimately reached my destination by cutting through a neighborhood. Afraid to try either of the other routes to get home, I went in a round about way and ultimately got home about an hour after I left. Later I found out that both of the disturbances I saw were tied to a police chase! It was a very strange experience! Has anyone else ended up in the totally wrong place before?
