Mine is 512kb . It is not bad for surfing websites but is slow sometimes for downlading very large filed. i dont download films, etc but games, software for which 512 is not too bad.
I have used 1mb internet connection at some places and that once is really fast. although now more than 1mb connections are available which are very very fast, 512kb fulfills my need.

Yes its really a pain downloading large files. It took me 6 long hours just downloading a 1.1 gigabyte file. Its good enough for watching video though.

I have dial up internet. I just looked at my connection speed and right now I am connected at 52.0 kbps. It's very slow. I live in a rural area. DSL and Cable internet are not available. We can only get dial up or satellite. Satellite internet is really expensive, so we have to settle for cheap dial up service.

Hi! I am using broadband internet connection. Speed of it is 100 Mbs. speed depend upon type of connection. Who are using dial-up connection they have the downloading problem. Because in dial up connection speed is less and long files can not download by dial up connection because between downloading sometimes breaks. it may be possible to download long file but it takes more time. There is a difference between speed of internet and download speed of internet. A broad band connection has 10-150 kbs/sec downloading speed . A dial up connection has very very less downloading speed. Broad band connection is really fast. Actually when we see speed of internet in task bar that is not actual speed. speed is hacked by softwares like mozila firefox , window xp , window vista for their updates.

I am not sure with mine because I need to connect to college private network before I can be connected to internet. I guess it varies depending on how many users are present in the network. When it is crowded, the I can even have no connection at all. The best time is at night when every body is going to bed. I can really appreciate the fast connection and downloading many useful files :D.
