The sound of Rain / myLot

Do you like the sound of rain? Whenever its raining those heavy showers of droplets from the sky, I just look outside the window and just listen as it showers away. Heavy rains are my favorite times with the sound of its abundance pouring down. With a hot drink and blankets..it could just excite me through until it stops. Princess

i don't like rain unless is in the summer time and somewhere in the countryside where there are no cars,big buildings etc

I don't like rain if I have to go out in it...I enjoy very much sitting in a warm place just watching it ... :) Princess

Wow. I more than just enjoy it! I like the sound and view both together. And also I like to smell the earth at the beginning of raining. My enjoyment is different from raining at daytime to raining at night. I just love rainy reason.

Is it true that there's a distinguishing moment of the smell of rain in the air before it rains? The smell of the air outside with grass and earth is just fresh after it rains. Princess

Yes. I feel the air before raining. The air is amazingly cold this time. But you can smell different just after starting the rain. :) ---------------------- www.telapoka.com

I love the sound of rain but I don't like how it smells especially if it was a really hot day before it started raining - it smells like the earth is getting pissed off and it's really having a hot head after the smoldering heat of the afternoon - it's the smell of dust and heat rising from the soil :P I do however like how it smells after raining. But not in filthy places where the stench was preserved and later spreads because there's no longer the water that's pushing it down. Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Ah..yes..the city life..not a wonderful experience there with rain. I go through it once in awhile when I'm just not lucky enough and get into places like that. Hahah...seems like most situations do have their pro's and con's.. :) Princess

i love listening to the sound of rain i find it so relaxing and calming! i like to take those days and curl up in a chair with a cup of tea and a good book.

I live in the Pacific Northwest where it rains a lot. I love the rain when it first starts in the fall. It's really refreshing after a hot summer. Those first rainy days I make chili or stew and curl up with a book or a good movie and listen to it on the roof, the windows, the skylights. It's a neat sound. By spring though I'm ready to be done with the rain, though it's not done with us!

Well..rain is not much of a friend in many parts of the world I admit. Too much and its a disastrous. But there's still that something special about rain when it does happen especially after a long time... :) Princess
