I was laid off January 1, 2008. I got a job in November, finally. Have you been laid off because of the economy? Are you working now?

I am a freelancer and I do what I need to to pay the bills right now. I also have 2 roomies. So the bills are split. I am plugging away at getting my writing work paid for. When I get things set up and have the time I will send you a link to a site that will pay you. I am just waiting on the payment. Ainge

Sounds good Ainge on the link. I'm glad you have roommates, that really helps during these times. I hope you are able to get your work paid for!

I do have a stable job since I work in Education. I am employed by the government so I do have a pretty stable job even if the salary is not that great. however my wife who is in the banking sector really fears that her job might be terminated if things go wrong at her place of work. I am glad that you have got a new job now.

That it is great on your end. Education is not a likely career that would suffer cut backs due to the economy. Your wife, on the other hand, well I can understand her fear. Hopefully things will be up again really soon.

Luckily, I've been a working writer since 1999 because I've been willing to take on low-paying jobs when the economy dips and then make up for that income with things seem to be getting better. I know that isn't the case with a lot of jobs, but I'm thankful it is true for this one. I tried being a cosmetic sales woman, but failed miserably when the women I was working with explained to me that they had to make a choice between buying gas at $4.43 per gallon and buying make up. So, I had to stop that job because of the economy. I won't go back to that kind of work again because I have no idea if things are going to get worse or not. I'll try to stick with what's secure at the moment.

That's great that you always have writing to fall back on. I so wish I had a niche that I could profit from and stay at home.

I am out of work since July and it doesn't look like I will be finding anything anytime soon. Very depressing I hope things improve soon. Although I am looking for a job outside the home I did find some really good online options to make money. So I will do those in the meantime and continue with them when I do find an outside job.

It seems that everyone is doing more and more to make just a few bucks here and there to try to supplement their income. I know that I have a few things here and there, but they don't add up to much.
