When you think back about a certain day, maybe a birthday, a first kiss or even a tragic experience, do you also start to hear a song playing in the midst of your mind? I am wondering how many people do this, but I know when I think back about something meaningful in my life there is usually some song or album that I was listening to at that time that seems to be interconnected to that memory. Does the same happen to you? Does this add more meaning to the song/album? If possible give some examples, it is always exciting to see when one gives a soundtrack to their life.

Usually I don't connect songs with events in my life, even though I listen to music so much.
The only time I can really remember there being songs where I connect to events and stuff was when I was 15 and visiting Europe. When I was in Paris, it was right after they had won the soccer championship and so they were playing the theme song from it (it was a Ricky Martin song) on the radio a lot on our bus. Also, the song 'Roxanne' was being played our very last night on the trip (in Italy) and myself and two friends I made on the trip were lip-synching to it at our last dinner on the trip. We thought it was hillarious.
I go to a lot of concerts and sometimes some songs when I hear them at home it reminds me of stuff that happened at the concert. For example, my sister and I went and saw Armor For Sleep. During their song 'Dream To Make Believe' the singer, Ben, came right to where my sister and I were standing (at the barricade) and he jumped up on the barricade right between us and used us to steady himself while he knelt on the barricade and sang. Now whenever I hear that song, I think back to that moment.

Wow, yes. My soul is linked to music. I don't like a song for any other reason than I get shivers down my spine when it plays. Could be the words or the beat or the tune - could be anything. Some songs play and they take me back to 1 moment in time. The song 'Don't Stop' by ATB takes me right back to a club in Johannesburg - I was dancing to that song there one night. The song 'The Music Sounds Better With You' takes me back to driving home from a club in Durban with my best friend. We sang this song at the top of our voices. Music moves me!
