This drives me crazy. My nephew is in the, "I'll do it later," mode and it's impacting us all because we have to follow up with his teachers to make sure he's doing his work, we're constantly being called in for parent/teacher conferences, and his teachers never trust that he'll have his work in on time. So, when he does do a good job and doesn't procrastinate, his teachers don't believe it'll last because he's blown that ability to trust him. It's so difficult.

Yeah I could relate to your nephew. In high school, I rarely did a homework assignment but I knew my way around the system. Homework was an actual percentage of my grade, so I knew if I didn't do it, I would only be failing 10% usually, so I could still do well in each class. In college, though, homework isn't necessarily just a part of my grade. It's usually what decides if I pass or not.
For your nephew, you should find out if he is still doing well on his tests and quizzes and any in-class work. If he is, he should still be in good shape.

I had also experienced procrastinating, and it did not give me positive results. I usually ended up cramming and even to the point of not sleeping much because of such behavior. Eventually, I made it a point to discipline myself by doing things that should be done now rather than doing them the next days. It can actually be fixed so long as we are determined enough to discipline our bodies. Smile and be happy!:)

Sometimes when I procrastinated in college, it was hard to do all the work in one night or I ended up not reading the stories I needed to and failed some of my tests, but I never tried to make an excuse because I shouldn't have waited til the last minute. I just learned how to manage my time a little better.

It is awful but it takes self discipline. I am constantly having to tell myself to get up and get it done!

I'm a terrible procrastinator when it comes to school, but it works for me. I can spit out an A paper in 2 or 3 hours, though, depending on how long it has to be. I tend to wait until the day it's due to do it. (I go to school online, so I can turn in assignments as late as 11:59 pm to still be considered on time.) Sometimes I can get myself out of it, but I have just accepted that I'm a procrastinator. If I want to do something earlier, then I just tell myself that I have to do it on this certain day. I don't know what to tell you about fixing it. You just have to make yourself want to get it done early. I don't really procrastinate about other things...just school. Other stuff I get done way early, so I don't know.

Hi friend! It is there with every one! To overcome this , you have to gain interest in each and every task you do. Just imagine situations where you have vested your interest and got success., in such cases you did not remind yourself about the successive steps towards your goal, it was a just automated one. So what I am coming to share is,
with INTEREST even you can move the huge mountains,
but with hesitation you can even never turn a paper.
With interest , you will grow eagerness to finish the task earlier...
Hope you get my points, and hope it helped you.
Enjoy your life friend! Take care...
Good luck
