Name power

I saw something that other day and I really want some opinions, or experiance in this. It was found that when you name your child certain names it will directly effect their treatment. With a "good" strong name they will get into less trouble. I guess I can see this. But I also inquire how exactly do the "good" names get recognition. I have a son named Ayden and I get really good feedback so far for this name. It is a name veiwed as a powerful name. As well as a name like Micheal.

Ayden is a very cool and unusual name. I personally love it. I don't know what makes a name strong but I like unusual. My kids names are Cami and Kyra (keera). I hope that doesn't make them unusual.

I like your chosen names for your children. I have not heard nor saw to be true an unusual name making anyone unusual. I think as far as names go, when they are unusual that mainly constitutes cool. Thanks for the compliment on my sons name!

It is really strange how people perceeve names. I can't tell you why we do this, but I will give you my oppinion. People pick on the weak. If you have a strange name or a so called weak name people guess how you might be and react and treat you that way.

Very true Michelle. I do see this as pretty wrong in doing thow. I picked all my childrens names specifically because it sounds pretty good. I did put into consideration how they could be picked on or name called from what I chose.

Some names definitely have more gravitas. I think it is if they sound good, have good connotations or if there have been respected people with that name. I think it is cruel when parents give their children stupid names, it's just inviting people to make fun of them! I wonder if many people still call their children Adolf??

It is good. There are some names that seem powerful, some good, some bad even some would make people think that one must be a sweet person based on what their name is. Thanks for responding.

I think if you name a child Miracle DeQuantra or Jaquandrioun Markeevenne (Two actual names) then expect your child to be proficient in asking "Do you want fries with that?" I'm a juvenile intake officer. I deal with delinquents day in and day out. Yes, some of the kids I deal with have nice normal names like Jennifer or Matthew, but the vast majority of names are so jumbled and butchered that I don't know how to even begin to pronounce it. And keep this in mind -- no president or senator will ever be named Sharpye LeShitsta (an actual name of a child I've dealt with).

I can see that for sure. I think that it is unfair to name a child some outrageous name.
