Father stabbed to death in front of his three-year old daughter

(I know this discussion has been posted already but i found the story so i thought i would post the news story) This is the first picture of the father stabbed to death in front of his three-year old daughter as he travelled to see his newborn son. Today victim John Nii Kacsu Abbey's name was released by police officers investigating his death. The 26-year-old boxer from Croydon, south London, was also known to his friends as King, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said. A 22-year-old man is still being questioned by police over the murder in west Croydon on Thursday evening. The victim was stabbed as he travelled with his daughter to the nearby Mayday hospital where his wife had given birth hours earlier. He was taken to the same hospital that his wife and baby were in but died shortly afterwards without seeing his child. The attack happened on Thursday at 6.15pm outside a busy supermarket in West Croydon, South London. Witnesses said they heard shouting as a dispute broke out at the bus stop before the Ghanaian man was stabbed. Shopkeeper Hassan Palavor said: ‘There was a man on the ground and ambulancemen were giving him heart massage.’ A security guard at a nearby office saw the terrified little girl, realised she was the stabbed man’s daughter and took her away from the scene. I just did what anybody else would do.’ The guard, who did not want to be named, said the girl could only mumble the words ‘mum’ and ‘Mayday’ – the Croydon hospital where her mother had given birth. He added: ‘I saw this little girl and I said I don’t think she should be watching something like that. She knew that her daddy was hurt but she didn’t say a lot. Investigation: The victim was travelling with his three-year-old daughter to hospital where his wife had given birth hours earlier The unnamed man was rushed to Mayday Hospital but died shortly after ‘She’s only three and she was being taken away by strangers. She wasn’t crying. I could see she was in shock. Her eyes were wide open.’ The daughter is expected to be interviewed by specially trained police officers. Last night, the dead man’s wife, who has not been named, spoke for the first time about the tragedy. She told the Ghana High Commission that she is consumed by grief over her dead partner and her newborn baby who has been left fatherless. ‘She sounded the lowest that you can imagine a human being sounding. She was completely down and flat,’ said Martin Quansah, welfare officer at the Commission. Detective Chief Inspector Cliff Lyons, of Scotland Yard’s Homicide and Serious Crime Command, said: ‘It is a tragedy for the three year old, the man’s wife and the son he will never see.’ A 22-year-old man handed himself in to police at midnight on Thursday and has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Depressing... Very depressing! Its sad how the world is today. cant go anywhere without worrying about your safety. i know its going to be hard on the wife and i know its definately going to be hard on the 3 year old because she is at the age where she can probably remember what happened. Its going to scar her for life. Poor thing. And the newborn.. will never know his father.. thats got to be hard too. my heart goes out to the family.
