...or maybe someone that you know? It is a horrible and traumatic experience which left undiagnosed can rupture, cause internal bleeding and even death. Pain and bleeding in early pregnancy could be a sign that it is ectopic but also people suffer them when they don't realise that they are even pregnant. I lost 2 litres of blood and ended up in emergency surgery. It was terrifying.
