What is it about slasher flicks that are so attractive?
Is it the blood and gore?
Or the suspense leading up to the kill?
Or is it the story line that is attractive?
I have seen a few of these slasher movies myself.
Halloween, Friday the 13th, Psycho, Wax Museum, I know what you did last summer... all nothing but kill, kill, kill and more kill.
There is no story line. And the acting is, well, scream scream scream, run into building, lock yourself up in a dead end room and wait to be killed.
So, to all those people who love slasher flicks, tell me, what is so nice about such movies that makes you want to watch them?

seeing how realistic they are.. seeing how stupid the people are when they run upstairs to be trapped by the killer instead of out of the front door and down to the police station.. to see how creative they will kill people.. seeing who will survive..

lol =D I dun really like such movies.. I will only watch them if i'm left with no choice.. ON top of that, there's nothing that attracts me even, maybe for the suspense?? hehe ^_^
Other than that, it's just the same old plot, and keeping ple in suspense is what movies and shows are about right?? lol =D I dun really critize those movies, because it's just not in my league of interest.. haha

Slasher flicks like the ones you mentioned DO have a story line first off..and why do I like them....Because they are fun to watch...I get a kick out of the stupidity of movie victims in flicks like that..I love watching ppl in the movies get slaughtered (my kids and I are ALWAYS saying something cheeky during a murder scene..its pretty comical)...I love all the different ways ppl get killed, I love the mindset and how it came to be of the killer...Theres lots of reasons I love horror, slasher flicks..and thats actually my fave genre...

Slasher flicks now are all the same, once you seen one, you have seen them all, because this type of film has become so diluted. But do remember that when Halloween and Friday the 13th come out at the time thare was nothing like them so they seemed fresh and so was born the slaser genre.

There are a few slasher movies that do have a storyline. Scream is one example, and I also enjoyed the first of the I Know What You Did Last Summer movies. But for the most part I'm right there with you. I don't like movies that border on inane as the bad guy is able to limp behind someone running full speed and catch up to them, just to slash them up. Most of them just go for that shock factor.

I dont know because I dont watch them. I have seen some of the Halloween and Frida the 13th movies but other than that I really havent watched too many of those movies I'm really not into the blood and gore aspects of these films. if a movie doesnt have a good story line I say forget it. It's not worth my time.

Well I dont know if can put it in words but Ill try, I love slasher flicks and horror movies period, there just interesting and fun to watch they dont scar me I just enjoy watching the special effects and thinking about how they did it and also I enjoy looking at the stupidity of it all like when the actress falls while the slasher guy is chasing her its just funny, (not) because I think seeing someone get hurt is funny because its definitely not, but because of the fact that I know its all fake and made to entertain people and by the way psycho dose have an interesting story to its Hickok.
