Greetings! Osteogenesis Imperfecta

Hello to all to the Osteogenesis imperfecta section of MyLot, I was born with type 111 OI (oi short for osteogenesis imperfecta), I am 26 year old female. This condition causes the people with it to be dwarves (although some mild cases doesnt affect height but thats rare) and many can not walk as well (im 4 foot and use a wheelchair), This condition causes fragile bones and some other things, but the fragile bones is the major part of the condition. Some symptoms for this are blue sclera. and if they are babies. non stop crying.. not a cry for attention but a cry. if you have had children you know the difference between what type of cries babies do. I cried non stop as a baby now we know why, fractures. If you suspect that your child may have this or have questions please let me know, this is why I created this thread. Because many times lil childrean are taken away from their parents when the fractures are discovered and parents are charged with child abuse when in the end it turns out they have this brittle bone condition, very sad. I was one of the ones this happened to. was taken away for 6 months till I was finally diagnosed. So my purpose of this thread is to help any parents that may suspect their child has this and to prevent what happened to me as a child to happen to others :) happy mylotting!!
