I started writing my thoughts when I was 9 years old. I write down what happened to my day or what I am looking forward to. I write what is happening to my life. I write when im happy, sad, angry, frustrated or down. My journal is my secret keeper. How about you? Do you also have a diary/journal? What do you usually write or share to your journal? Share!

I bought my first diary when I was 13, but I haven't kept it. I didn't write every day, only sometimes. I read it before I threw it away, and it was pretty amusing and interesting to read about my life as a teenager. There was a long period in my life where I didn't keep a diary (about ten years I think) but in 1999 I started writing a diary again. In some periods of my life I write every day, and in other periods I only write once or twice a month, it depends on the things that are going on in my life and how I am feeling. Sometimes it is a great help for me to write and sometimes I don't need to write much or don't have the energy to write much.

I started to have a diary when I was 9 years old too. I remember my diary was a big planner that my aunt receive during Christmas from her work and I asked her if I can have it. So I started writing what happen to me during that day. Until now I am still writing to my diary but a different one now, not anymore the big planner..hehehe. When I went to Indonesia I really keep a diary and I also write the sms that I receive from my family during that day :-). But my uncle told me that I am brave because diary is where you write everything that happen to you even the most sad part. He ask me if times comes and I want to read all of my diary am i ready to remember all those pain again? Is it okey to still remember those? So it kept me to think for a while. As I was in my room I took one of my diary and started reading it and yeah it still hurt me when i read some part of my diary and honestly I did not finish reading it and close it. I guess my uncle is right. When you write everything in the diary, you don't need to read it again. It is already in the past, it hurt us already and it teach us but we dont need it to remember because we will just feel the pain again. I still write sometimes but not everyday. I have my online diary :-) .I still write but I dont read it anymore.. :-P It is okey with me to just write everything, anything..its like my outlet...

I feel that way too. When I read again my diary, I feel the emotions rushing back. But diary is really an outlet of whatever we feel at a certain situation. happy mylotting!

I have a secret diary, where I hide and cherise it, sometimes when I feel lonley and sad I write on it, however It has been years since I last wrote something on it. However it is really prescious when you read what you wrote after an amount of years, and when I die I want that my daughter will have it as a memory of the life of her mother.

I do have a journal but to tell you the truth I have not written down very much in the last couple of months as my life has been very hectic with other things and I just don't have the time at the moment but when my life does calm down a bit with less catastrophes I will be recording my thoughts and feelings once again. I have kept a diary since I was little and it is nice to go back and read them sometimes to see what I was doing and the feelings that I was having at a specific time in my life but what is more fun is to see the things that seemed so important to me when I was younger and as I grew up those things usually don't mean anything to me, but I still cherish the memories, thoughts and feelings that I did have! Now days I do open my journal though, but it only to write down appointments that I have on any given day. ;)

I also re-read my journal once in a while and I agree, some of the things I write is not so important to me now. But I do cherish the experiences. Thanks for the reply!
