I'm pretty new at this mylot thing, I've only writen in a few of the topics, but as I was scrolling down I noticed this one and it inspired me.
How wonderful it really is to be a student of life, just as long as we have the correct understanding of what life is.
How we define it is so important to the way we perceive it and deal with. And dealing in this sentence does not have a negative connotation attached to it.
What is life? What is living? How we choose to live our lives is also key. We need to be who we say we are, and not just edify ourselves through our accomplishments.
I believe that as a human race we haven't really forgotten what life is all about.
It somehow just got lost in schedules, appointments, careers, mortgages, errands, and cleaning the house.
Take a minute everyday and go sit outside by a shady tree, or on a patch of grass, and stare at the sky; and notice the life around you. So much going on, take it all in. Then decide for yourself what's real and what's not. What is truly important.
May you be blessed in all you do.

I also tend to consider myself a Student of Life (when such labels are necessary), and agree with a lot that you've mentioned here. I believe that to be true Students of Life is to question everything, and especially to ask ourselves tough and important questions like, "Who am I?" "Do I really understand life?" "Why is it that no matter what beautiful experience I have, I always have to come back to the day-to-day?" "What is here, now?" "Why am I always looking for the Great Somewhere Else?" "Am I missing out on the wonders that Life has to offer me in this moment, as good or bad as it might seem?"

Those are very good questions to ask oneself on a daily basis. For me, the Student of Life is also about finding my authentic self, that true will so to speak of my true nature.

I think we learn a great deal from life, and for me The Student of Life is part of who I am. (When I have to use a title that explains my particular beliefs and paradigm). I also would add that for me being a student of life is about finding my authentic self. It's about finding out who I am through how I work, how I look, how I speak, what I read, etc. It's not that those things make me, but that those things reflect my true nature, and if I am caught up in the world of being like the Jones's, then I'm neglecting my authentic self and living a poor life, not learning from it.
