now as you all know the internet has become one of the main interfaces of society. there are many good people out there who use the internet for good reasons that end up benefitting the economy, such as online insurance, free credit reports, etc. but nowadays we have something called cyber terrorism, which is predicted to be the new way the world does wars. by attacking or sending virusess to other computers around the world, many countries lose communications with the outdside world. this makes them very vulnerable to other countries. there are currently an estimated 100 countries involved in cyber terrorism. other countries like the united states and great britain, are making a valiant effort to stop cyber attacks. oddly enought most people involved in cyber terrorism are people who surf the web on a daily basis. they look for new hacking programs for sites. when they get the hang of it and think they are so good at it they think "this is wat i should do for a living" from now on be careful with the internet!!!!!!!!!!

Its all about moderation. Given the globalization of the internet, we now make a living off of it. Its the second reality. Its no more vulnerable than real life, just tends to be a little faster and more convenient.

just my view.i disagree with the last sentence- be careful with the internet.i think it should be written as be careful of those people who exploit the internet.ultimately, it is humans who create and use the internet.we should not blame the internet for all its destructiveness but rather the people who abuse the internet for their own gains.humans are the ones who are destructive, not the internet.

You are correct my friend. But the cyber attack is a minor part when considering the useful thing happening around Internet. Always it is giving knowledge to the people. It is based upon the end user how he use it. He can use it for constructive and destructive. Even if he use the Internet for destructive purpose he would have gained that criminal knowledge from Internet only. We should curse the person who uses it for destructive purpose and not the Internet.

Yes the net is a great resourse but there will always be people that will use it for their own gains. Thats why ECHELON was set up to keep the peace.

It's sad to think that there are people out there that deliberatly attempt to spoil such a useful tool in society. The internet provides us with such an elaborate range of information that we may otherwise not be able to get our hands on. These hackers are getting so good that they can get past almost all security systems if they wanted to and its getting easier and easier to get these virus' - especially if you are not too computer literate!
