My question stems from the fact that there has been much ado about Jessica weight gain .Now my question is that why is that persons expect that celebrities shouldnt gain weight or look old ? Why are so many person making so much fuss about celebrity appearence ?.Personally I like the new curves on that girl but most persons seem to have a problem with it ?What are your views on the issue ?

yes they are humans and thats why I dont care about them like a lot of other people do. And I guess thats the price for a female celebrity you gain weight you get made fun of. Which is funny because they never seem to make fun of men celebs that gain weight.

Yes I dont care about them too atleast not to the state where I want to hear every little detail about them .I agree with you that men are not treated the same when it comes to women and the weight issue. The irony of it is that I prefer Jessica now that she has weight ,shows up he curves

It is the industry saying they Must be this thin. And since they are making so much money and are famous people Love to se them fall. for some , seeing a star who suppose to be perfect look fat or unattractive make them feel better. They forget that these are people too. They have problems and pressures too.It is like the press love to raise people up only to shoot them down.

Yes I think that being thin is the industry standard. You are right about people intent on breaking these rich famous people and I suppose too that its like you said, that somehow makes them feel better. Its just so cold that people forget that these people are humans too and feel like we do

True fans don't read the gossip. A true fan Wants to se their idol happy.Me, I only see Barbara Walters interviews with my favorites and watch them walk down the red carpet on Oscar night. That is the only way I know he/she has a steady and who it is.And silly me, if my favorite actor is married, I am happy for him.All a star owes me is the best performance he/she can give, period.

I do agree with you to a certain degree, but they put themselves out in the public domain and enjoy the good publicity and must expect the bad as well.Human beings by their very nature are critical and sometimes say that these people are just so perfect it hurts, compared to the rest of us, and love it and pull people apart when they put on a few pounds sometimes the celebs don't realise what the consequences are and how horrible it could be,but if you put yourself out there they must expect the bad as well as the good.I must admit it must be horrible sometimes. Some say any publicity is good publicity as it keeps them in the public minds and keeps the money rolling in.

yea they are just humans. But when one of them loses 20 pounds or ever gain 20 pounds the news goes crazy about them. Most of the celebrities probably use lipo. In this world all women want to do is lose weight. Weight is like one of the biggest problems that women worry about. I dont really care about myself because I eat and eat and I dont even change much.

I don't understand why we can't just let them live normal lives. I agree that she looks just fine. If this is how she wants to be, let her be. If this was just a regular girl then we could care less about how she looked.

I agree that celebrities should be able to show some curves, they are human for Gods sake! People are being hard on celebrities because they can and it is widely tolerated that we give harsh critisism on celebrities. But deep down inside a lot of people are jealous and want to look like them, which raises unrealistic standards. I agree that if celebrities would be curvier they would display a healthier example for your teen generation. This also goes for models, perhaps even more. Luckily models that are grossly underweight aren't allowed to model anymore. I think it not only looks disgusting if all your bones stick out, they must be very unhealthy too. There's a difference between a TONED body and a BONED body!

I totally agree with you. And I personally think she looks better with the weight gain. Her face doesn't look so long and funny. Celebrities should be given some privacy and should have the right to live a little without having everything they do and say become so public. I mean if they do something that is illegal or done in public and they get arrested that is different that if they put on some weight or age just like the rest of us.

I've looked at the pictures of Jessica Simpson and, sure, the young woman has gained a bit of weight but there are a LOT of women that would be thrilled to look the way she does now. One story I read said she went from a size 2 to a size 8. If she's a size 8, she's still much smaller than "average" women. I think that public perception is that celebrities have enough money to "fix" anything and that there are no "excuses" for weight gain, wrinkles, cellulite... any of the things that are just normal parts of life. They do live in a sort of perfection bubble, simply by virtue of their celebrity.

Hi ronnyb! I guess, so many people expect the celebrities to be perfect most of the time and have forgotten that they are just like us who will be facing old age and the physical changes in our body. I really don't mind celebrities looking very much human! lol..I think I will like them better that way instead of having been fixed bt surgeries all the time. Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

Of curse there human but I think people are so use to seeing Jessica look so fit, that when she gains the slightest amount of wight people are shocked and surprised I dont think its such a big deal that she gained wight, but on the other hand celebrity's put themselves on such a big pedestal by doing certain things to make themselves seem super human and above ordinary society to sell there record or movie, for example they get surgery or workout like crazy not that theres anything wrong with any of that stuff, but when celebs do things to make people view them a certain way they shouldn't get to upset when people are shocked by there normal appearance or sudden change in body type.

Yes, celebrities are human and I do not understand why they make such a big deal out of someone gaining a little weight. Those type of things happen everyday to normal people so it is nothing new about it.

I cannot contribute to the discussion regarding Jessica since I am no fan of her. But on your general question. Yes, celebrities are humans as well. People make a fuss regards to their appearance for the mere fact that it is their WAY OF LIVING. Being a celebrity is supposedly their "JOB". And their "JOB" requires of having a good figure, lifestyle, etc. It's their responsibility to make themselves look good and young or else they lose their "JOB". Try asking yourself, would you become a fan of an ugly looking fat lady??
