Bill Richardson scandal

Here in Illinois Rod Blagojevich was recently impeached on corruption charges, and especially trying to sell President Barack Obama's vacated senate seat. That was a relief. But then: during the presidential primaries, one of the "best" (well-rounded and experienced) candidates with the least support was Bill Richardson, whom Obama did not forget, when he nominated him as Secretary of Commerce. How awful then, that in only a month Bill Richardson would step down before even getting started improving trade policies. He is indeed being investigated for a corrupt relationship with a financial firm, having given them business with the government of New Mexico in exchange for a _hefty_ campaign "donation". I was actually saddened (not to mention disillusioned) to hear this news, I was a big fan of Richardson, he has done some great things. Also, he was the only candidate speaking out against the Darfur genocide. What do you think of the situation, what did you think of Richardson?

I didn't like the way he abandonned Hillary Clinton's candidacy and I frankly don't care what happens to him now.

I think anytime a person is under investigation for corruption, ALL his associates need to be investigated. If he is guilty then many of his associates are also. There is no such thing as a conspiracy of 1.

I've always liked and respected Bill Richardson and right now I admittedly don't know what to think! I tried to find the most recent information about the investigation but there's not much new. I was under the impression that he hadn't been accused of anything himself but who knows where this may lead.

I honestly haven't been paying attention to Richardson but I very much respect the fact that he was an activist for Darfur. Then again, so was George Bush, and he didn't do much about it. Haha.
