Can you resist the urge to peek into somebody else's diary?

There lies my brother's personal diary, so inviting and wanting to be read. Locked in it are fascinating things and I am sure there are many things written about me. A part of me tells not to read other's diary. Hmm... Ok I wouldn't read it...(whistles)...Aw cmmon just a peek wouldn't hurt hehe. Can you resist the urge to peek into other's diary? Have you read other's diary without their permission? If you have, how did you feel before the act, during the act and after the act?

Hi, Nikky Honestly, I've never tried to peek or read my sister's or my mom's diaries eventhough they're just there. My family is a close-knitted one but we still respect each other's privacy when it comes to letters or diaries. I've tried keeping a diary but I'm too lazy to put everyday entry so I gave up but my mom and sister are so diligent in doing that lol... I've never even had the urge to peek in my friends' diaries either. I don't know why but no matter how curious I am with so many things I was never curious about the content of anyone's diary hahaha... weird huh? I got good eyes too but they're not good at seeing passing objects or words that I got a quick glimpse at. There are instances where my sister forgets to close her diary and was lying there. When I pass right at it and had a quick glimpse at it, I felt guilty even if I hadn't seen what's written in it. lol... I don't like the feeling that I might see something of my sister's private thoughts and feelings. She's also open to me and talks about things so maybe that's why I never had this curiousity in peeking or reading diaries especially my family's... =P

I wonder why people keep diaries? Why don't they just keep things in their head.. Anyone could break in and read their secrets. I just don't get it.

I would like to think that I could, if I found a actual book I would only look inside to try and find the persons name so that I could return it to them. Of course if the diary were juicy I may not be able to help myself from reading of it more. I would hope that I could withstand temptation though.

Why... if it's just lying around i'll probably read it hehehe. Curiosity aroused when the opportunity is there. And I won't feel bad at all.

I keep a regular journal or diary myself and I would hate to think that someone had read the contents. Still, looking at it from the other side I'm sure that it would be very tempting to have a glance if you found someone's diary. I guess, in relation to my own journals it's my intention to keep them secret until I pass over to the other side! My jounals can be read over and over once I'm gone. They could be very boring though or they could be very exciting, it all depends on the person reading the journal. Andrew

I can. It's easy to do so. Just take your eyes away from the diary. I don't want others to be reading stuffs which I wrote intentionally "for me only". so I won't do it to them. And more often than not, reading other people's diary leads to mistrust and quarrels which I don't want to happen between me and my family or friends.

Even though how high the urge is, I would still resist. That is a personal stuff and I respect whatever is inside it and whoever owns it. There may be some things about me inside it, but I prefer not to know. When I read it and learn some thing, it is like I am invading the owner's privacy. I will just leave it where I saw it and just forget it. Am not just that type.
