Is anyone ever going to make a good horror film?

I love horror films, if I had the choice, I'd watch horror for the rest of my life but they are starting to annoy me. They could have a great story line that actually starts to scare me....and then the ending is naff which ruins the whole film. Like "40 days of night" I was loving that film from the start but then the ending just ruined it. Every Christmas for the past few years, I keep getting told "next year is the year of horror films" and then nothing good gets released.
Does anyone else agree with me that there just aren't any good horror filsm being released?

Well there is one released called "My Bloody Valentine." I had a couple of friends who watched it and told me it was pretty good. However, I believe that the best horror movies are Japanese Horror movies. Most of the good ones are made in Japan. Even though I read the subtitles, the movies give me a great scare.
Check online for great Japanese horror movies, you wont be disappointed.

I totally agree, my friend Simone brings me Japanese films and they are great, I actually get a bit scared by them and the subtitles don't bother me either. When I watched the Japanese version of The Grudge scared me so much that I couldn't get off my bed until my other half came home from work.
I've heard of My Bloody Valentine, but I've heard so many different opinions about it. It's good, it's not good, it's ok, it's brilliant, it's alright, could have been better. So I don't know if I'll go to the cinema to see it, might wait for it to come out on DVD
