Problem referring friends. Anyone Help me out !!

I have referred a friend from mylot, it is said when we refer someone from mylot we will be paid for that isnt it ?? Besides paying he/she did not even got added up to my friends list in mylot and i am sure he/she followed the link which i gave them(which is in the referral tab on my earnings). What could be the possible issue here !! Unnecessarily i missed out 3 to 4 referrals. Anyone help please !!
