How much SLEEP do you get per NIGHT?

I get home around 11:30pm from work, and usually I go to bed so late. Actually early morning 6am. And I wake up 3pm. So I sleep no less than 8 hours most of the time. To be honest I wanted to change of that routine I have. It's not only unhealthy but I feel like I have wasted some hours for other things, and I don't get to see the morning and afternoon shows anymore that I used to. They say 6 hours of sleep from 10pm is way better than 8 hours of sleep. I read that somewhere.

I usually get 4 hours a night during the week, usually 8 on the weekend, I suffer with high amount of stress, so insomnia is an issue.

My mom and grandma always said the sleep you get before midnight is the most beneficial and it's probably true. But I sleep poorly. I have trouble getting to sleep no matter how tired I am, no matter how much physical activity I have done during the day. And I wake up 4-5 times per night with my bones and joints aching. So I get a few hours each night but it's not good quality.

Yeah, I read that as well. I get back from uni about 6 most nights, and go to sleep about half 12 - 1 ish normally. I have to get up at 7 for uni. So i usually get about 6 hours sleep, more if i can manage it :)
